Project Accountant

Job Description:

The Project Accountant will manage the financial aspects of specific projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and other team members to ensure the financial health of projects from inception to completion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create & Monitor project accounts
  • Process subcontractor and vendor invoices
  • Create s/s for paid when paid for vendors, Anixter, IES, etc.
  • Verify project budgets
  • Purchase order system
  • Creating PO's
  • Matching PO's to invoices
  • Compile monthly project reconciliations
  • Handle all project insurance renewals for subcontractors
  • Update management on project status
  • Project Analysis
  • Maintaining job list/awarded jobs
  • Check Invoice pricing to contract by job
  • Able to process/request Pre liens and waivers
  • Create AIA Billings
  • Creating customer invoices in QuickBooks
  • AZTPT - understanding of the construction sales tax laws
  • Understanding and preparation of the monthly WIP
  • Ad hoc project requests

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • 3+ years of cost/project accounting
  • Proficient in Excel

  • Excellent communication skills
